I really should

I should really get better at this posting stuff! Just seems like time is short! Here are a couple of summer time pics!
Wade took swimming lessons at the local YMCA. This first pic is of him and his best buddie Carson. Wade was trying sit like Carson.
We had a cookout on Saturday. Shane thought the kids would need a cool activity to do. He created our own little redneck water slide. Wade's poor bum was SORE for a couple of days!

School is back in session

I always dread the beginning of the school year. This year was no different! I dreaded it immensely. Now that it has started, I think it is going pretty well. I have mostly good kids, and a few blooming idiots. I have one gentleman in 8th hour who may get booted soon. Yes, already. He's rude and disrespectful. I won't accept that. Gave my first test on Friday. Grades ranged from 107% to a measly 30%! I don't get it. I realize all students are different, but they were all there when I taught the lesson...we're talking sentence parts (subjects/verbs) here.

We bought a new grill last night. I'm in absolute heaven. Menards end of the season clearance of sorts...but I forgot to pick up the rebate card! POOPY! Have to go back and get it soon. Also ordered the vanity, linen cabinet and medicine cabinet ($$$$) for the master bathroom. I'm super excited to FINALLY started on this massively expensive project. I think Shane is too, but he's a little overwhelmed at the cost. We'll have it paid off quickly, just have to hold off on our snowball for a while.

Snowball you say? Dave Ramsey. Total Money Makeover. We have paid off a huge amount of debt (car loan, truck loan, motorcycle loan, credit cards, etc.) in about 2 years. All we really have left is our house. We hope to have it paid off in 10 years. That will mean we pay it off in a total of 15 years instead of the 30 we financed it for originally. Do you know how awesome that will be to be under 45 and OWN my own home?? How many people can say that in today's economy? thanks Dave! Check it out!

Sometimes life can be so....

Good.

~I'm blessed with an amazing husband. He understands me most of the time, and sometimes he doesn't. I guess that's the way it works! Even when my hormones are raging he seems to know when to steer clear of me...or to give me hug. He is a wonderful father too. He loves to take Wade on rides on the motorcycle or lawn mower. He even takes him on mundane errands just to get him out of the house...for me:)

~My son is the next good thing. Even when he tests my patience, I know the isn't doing it on purpose! He is just a little man. He has been such a good companion this summer. His vocabulary is increasing daily. He has kicked his binky addiction and learned to use the big boy potty. He is almost completely potty trained after about half the summer. I am happy that I don't have to change poopy pants anymore! I think Shane is too! He is off to day care in two weeks. We went to visit on Monday and he loved it. The kids were all gone to play at the nearby elementary school playground, but we got to see the room and the outdoor play area. He enjoyed both of those. Hopefully, the first week or two goes smoothly. I know I'm going to cry.

~I feel like I've finally found a friend in Taylorville. I've known Amy for a while (all the time we've lived here), but we are just now connecting and spending time together. She is the first person here I just call on a whim to chit chat with. I've missed having a girlfriend to do that with. I think it helps that we both have 2 year olds.

Bad.
~I'm still stuck on having a miscarriage. It doesn't help that Shane says no more kids. I'm not sure if that is a definite forever answer? or just for now? I want at least one more child. Two would be even better, but I'm not pushing my luck at this point. I'm in a pretty big funk at this point. Having to go back to work isn't helping much.

~going back to work stinks. I don't want to work, and seeing my schedule makes me want to go back even less. I guess I get like this every year. I just hate it! Then I end up getting into the groove and it all seems to be ok.

~family. I am not a big fan of any part of my family right now. (not Shane and Wade). I'm just tired of them. I'll stop at that for now.

Update

I should update even though no one reads. A month ago (5 weeks today), I went to the dr. and he didn't find a heartbeat. I had lost the baby. I had a D&C 2 days later. It's been tough...even now to deal with the loss of our baby. Tough probably doesn't describe it really. One thing that does help is my boy, Wade. His smile is enough to make me wash away the tears and the blues...

School starts soon. 'nough said.

Wow! It's been more than a year!

Since my last post, it has been more than a year. I think that everyone who has this link knows I'm pregnant, so it is ok to post it here. If not...SURPRISE! I'm pregnant. I think I'm going to keep this up as a pregnancy and life journal.

Today was day 2 of final exams. I only had to give two since I have a home room and preparation in this block of hours. I gave the first one and they all finished really quickly...no surprise. Second one was well on its way to being finished and about half my students were done when the FIRE ALARM went off! WHAT??? was my first thought. All of my students were like what do we do? We headed outside. I had 6-8 kids not finished with their work. Many were done, thank goodness. We were outside for 15 minutes or less. I had 6 gentle left to finish. One is still not finished (he'll be in tomorrow since he had an MRI today). I only have one grade left to post. Tomorrow will be pretty boring for me.

Pregnancy:
It is a bit of a surprise to Shane and I both. We are slowly adjusting though. I have had horrible nausea all day every day for about a month now. Otherwise, I'm not sure there is any other inkling that I AM pregnant. OH, no AF for 2 months has been nice. My skin is broken out like I am a 14 year old pubescent teen! Not just my face, mind you, my chest, shoulders, neck, face, and even my SCALP! Where did that come from? The nausea is slowly receding. Now I am only repulsed by meat. Yes, meat. The smell, the taste, the feel--makes me want to wretch just thinking about it right now!

My hair is falling out in mass quantities. In the shower in the morning, I'm pretty sure I could save my hair and make someone an beautiful wig! Let me know if you need the donation! I thought your hair didn't fall out during pregnancy?

This summer is going to require some major cleaning, reorganizing, purging and just pitching of some junk. I need another chest of drawers. Not sure if I am hoping for a boy? or girl. If we have a boy, we, obviously have most everything we need...if we have a girl (GASP) my girl Amanda is going to have to help me out. I do have a couple of friends with girls...who might want to swap clothes for a boy!

More soon...I believe!

School is winding down!

The school year is winding down. Only 3 more days with Joey! WAHOO. Joey is my problem study hall idiot. He knows how to push my buttons so he does!

I finished grading all of my essays today. J did not finish hers! She got a 60%! How stupid is that! This is honors English. I'm disappointed in her! I'm also disappointed in T. He didn't use his words. I know that sounds very elementary, but it isn't. He said something about a "student would say that blows" That is not honors English.

L. She is past her 5 days absences. She thinks she can get credit for the work regardless, which isn't the case at ALL! Zeros. She is not that special! Even if he is her BFF.

I haven't been impressed with AI this year. David Cook is ok, but David A is a teenager and not that good. His voice is still changing.

Should I go to J'ville this weekend? Or not? Shane is going fishing all day Saturday; I'm sure my mom has to work. MIL wants to see W. She would keep him. I want to go to church on Sunday though...so that would make that difficult. decisions decisions.

My girl Ashley needs some prayers. Nicki and Mattson do too!

My brother leaves for Afghanistan in less than 2 months. Not good news! Not at all. I am gong to look at the calendar and get down there to see him before he goes. Even if I have to make a fast trip of it by myself...which we all know won't happen. Wade would love to see his cousins too, as I'm sure they want to see him. Grace says he is "supper yummy cute"!
